Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

1. About This Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Ruten Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on rutenneuro.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

rutenneuro.com is a marketing and developer-information site for the Ruten closed-loop BMI middleware SDK. Cookies on this site are used to keep the site functioning, remember basic preferences, and understand how device engineers and researchers navigate the documentation and platform pages. No neural data, clinical data, or signals from rehabilitation devices pass through this site or are associated with cookie identifiers.

2. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow us to recognise your device on return visits, store preferences such as theme or language, and measure aggregate site usage. We also use related technologies such as local storage to retain your cookie-banner dismissal preference.

3. How We Use Cookies

Category Examples Lifetime
Strictly necessary Session token, CSRF token, cookie-banner dismissal state Session to 12 months
Preferences Theme, language Up to 12 months
Analytics Self-hosted analytics, anonymised page-view and navigation data Up to 13 months
Marketing Not currently used N/A

4. Notice and Choice

Ruten operates rutenneuro.com under a notice-only consent model for US visitors. By continuing to use the Service, you acknowledge our use of cookies as described above. You can opt out of analytics cookies through our cookie banner (which appears on your first visit) or by configuring your browser to block or delete cookies.

To reopen the cookie banner at any time, click the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of this site.

5. Universal Opt-Out Signals

Where applicable state law requires -- for example, California (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code Section 22575), Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Oregon -- we honour browser-transmitted opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") for sale and targeted-advertising categories. Ruten does not sell personal information and does not engage in targeted advertising, so GPC signals on this site result in suppression of any non-essential analytics initialisation as a matter of policy.

6. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies may be set by third parties acting as our service providers (for example, for self-hosted analytics infrastructure). We have agreements with such providers limiting their use of data collected on rutenneuro.com to the services they perform for us.

7. Managing Cookies

  • Use the cookie banner or click "Cookie preferences" in the footer to opt out of analytics.
  • Browser settings allow you to block or delete cookies at any time; see aboutcookies.org for browser-specific instructions.
  • Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may prevent the site from functioning correctly.

8. Changes and Contact

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any material change.
